    Sister bar of long-running bar Abbey Road. They have a decent happy hour and a nice space with a large outdoor area. Pretty friendly little place if you're a local to these parts. Lots of seating here.

    The second version of Shanghai's most popular (only?) roller-disco. Neon-lit, loud, fun, fabulous, skates available in most sizes. Surprisingly excellent cocktails, too, and a much expanded food menu. Solid lunch/cafe vibes in the afternoon, before the disco lights gets turned on in the evenings.

    The new Cages is absolutely massive. More than just batting cages, they also have squash courts, a full field for five-a-side soccer and dodgeball, an area for professional darts, a private space for events, more TV screens than a Best Buy, and just everything else one would put in a giant sports cave. The entrance is near the corner of Jiangning Lu and Wuding Lu, near where some sketchy clubs used to be. The elevator there goes up to the third floor. The BBQ is only available on Thursdays from 5pm onwards, so make sure you're going at the right time for a pulled pork taco.

    People keep returning to this long-running Huaihai Lu restaurant for the food, of course, which is country-style southern French in orientation. Leave it to the French, also, to offer one of the best burgers in town too. Dishes are pared down and straightforward, yet generously portioned. Don’t forget, Cuivre also has a respectable stretch of outdoor seating as well, if you’re looking for another reason to go.

    Formerly "Must Wine", Must Grill focuses on meats, burgers, and red wine. Dark wood decor and a nice glassed-in patio area with heat lamps during the winter. It's a casual spot; good for a date, friends, or a bite with the coworkers. They have some unique burger options on the menu with toppings that include salsa, foie gras, fried goat cheese, chili peppers, and others. Price for burgers range from 88-118rmb. A glass of beer or wine starts at 38rmb.

    Big Bamboo is a kid friendly sports bar. Their Jinqiao location has an outdoor play area perfect for the little ones to blow off steam while you watch a big game. All locations have a kid's menu with quesadillas, finger foods, and milkshakes. Open from 9.30am to 2am daily. Big Bamboo Hongqiao's location also has an outdoor playground.

    The Living Room by Octave is Shanghai's first holistic well-being center, and lucky for us, they also do food. During brunch, there's a kids room available with a small ball pit and play area, where kids can play as long as they have supervision. The Living Room also has a little library for kids to get in some light Sunday reading. The kid's room is only open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11.30am to 3pm.

    The MEAT is the steakhouse wing of the Kerry Hotel's three-three pronged F&B outlet. The decor is best described as a post-modern Texas cattle rancher aesthetic. On offer is house-butchered and aged beef imported from Australia as well as traditional steakhouse side dishes and premium wines.
